Dear DLR Families,

Welcome to a new and exciting school year! At DLR, we are dedicated to meeting the academic, social, and emotional needs of every student. We believe that when students feel supported, respected, and safe, they are empowered to grow, learn, and thrive.

Our school community is built on strong partnerships we have with our families and community members. We encourage your active involvement whether it is through volunteering, participating in school events, or simply staying engaged in your child’s academics. Your presence makes a huge difference!

At DLR we believe in open and consistent communication for our students to be successful. We are committed to keeping you informed through regular updates, newsletters, calendars, and conversations. Please be sure to stay connected with use through our website, David L. Rainer Elementary Facebook page, dojo, and Thrillshare where you will find the latest news, upcoming events, and important announcements.

Our school creates a positive and safe learning environment rooted in our PBIS values:

We are Respectful, We are Responsible, We are Safe… WE ARE DLR!!

These values guide our daily interactions to help build a foundation for a welcoming school where all students can succeed.

We are honored to be a part of your child’s life and look forward to all of their achievements that we will see this year!

Dear DLRES Tiger Families,

It is with great excitement that I welcome you to a new school year! My name is Mrs. Ina Patterson, and I am honored to serve as the Assistant Principal of David L. Rainer Elementary School. We are DLR!

I bring 16 years of experience in education to this role, having served as a District Title I Instructional Specialist and classroom teacher in Gifted Education, as well as 3rd and 4th grades. My background has given me a deep appreciation for the incredible work that happens in schools every day and a strong commitment to supporting both students, teachers, and families in their success.

At David L. Rainer Elementary, we are focused on creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and empowered to grow. I am proud to work alongside a dedicated team of educators who share a passion for academic excellence, strong relationships, and preparing students for lifelong learning.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, which includes my husband and high school sweetheart, Oscar Patterson, Sr. We have five beautifully gifted and athletic children. Inaya (20), Isyss (14), Oscar Jr. (11), Osten (8), and Orion (2), who have either attended, are attending, or will attend Camden County Schools. Go Wildcats! Our home is full of love—and pets!—including a turtle, a pygmy hamster, a bearded dragon, and a few loyal dogs. I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, reading, traveling, and cheering on my children at their sporting events and for my favorite sports team, GO GATORS!

I look forward to partnering with you throughout the year and am always available to support you and your child. Please don’t hesitate to reach out—I believe that strong family-school connections make all the difference.

Here’s to a fantastic year ahead!

Warmly,
Mrs. Ina Patterson
