Volunteers

Dear Families,

David L. Rainer’s Parents Always Willing to Support (PAWS) Committee, consists of families and teachers working together to support and enrich all students. With the help of our PAWS volunteers, we are able to support school staff, help promote student self-esteem, and assist in efforts to solve school needs through providing funding.

Who can be a PAWS Volunteer?
If you’re a father, mother, grandparent, guardian, and/or a person who teaches or instructs at David L Rainer, then we are talking about you! If you’re interested in making this school year awesome, please attend the Volunteer Orientation and Training (check the David L Rainer Elementary website or Facebook page for date and time).

Programs & Fundraising
Our primary objective is to provide our school with funds, programs, resources, and services that will enrich and maximize the education of every child and benefit the school. To meet this important objective, we fundraise. A few programs that the PAWS Committee sponsors and supports are the fall festival, book fairs, holiday shop, color run, Valentine's Day grams, Teacher Appreciation, Field Day, and various other fundraisers and events throughout the year!

Why YOU should get involved!
For PAWS to be effective and truly representative of the school, it is essential to have parental involvement from as many parents as possible. Many working  parents feel that they cannot be included in PAWS because they cannot be on campus during the day. Simply participating in after-school activities and events, helping your student with take home fundraising packets, and staying in contact with your student’s teacher are great ways for parents to get involved. Whatever your own level of flexibility, David L. Rainer PAWS always appreciates parent volunteers, as does our teachers and staff. Keep in mind that by volunteering, you will get to enjoy interacting with the kids, become friends with other parents, and accomplish things that truly make a difference.
