During the past couple weeks, our wonderful elementary students helped our Pre-K friends learn their colors by dressing up in colorful outfits! From bright reds to cool blues, our school was a rainbow of learning and fun! A big thank you to all our students and teachers for making our Color Days so special and educational. It’s amazing to see our school community come together to support each other in creative and engaging ways. Keep shining, everyone!

I am excited to announce that today we are starting the Domino’s Pizza Fundraiser. The money raised will go towards technology upgrades for the school and to support children, and emergency funds.

𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰: School buses are the most regulated vehicles on the road. They’re designed to be safer than passenger vehicles in preventing crashes and injuries, and in every state, stop-arm laws exist to protect children from other motorists.
If you are driving, remember these simple rules:
– 𝐘𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐚 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐛𝐮𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 — don’t speed up — because the bus is preparing to stop. There are - likely students waiting to get on the bus or parents waiting nearby to pick up children.
– 𝐑𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩 — and wait at least 20 feet behind the bus — because children are getting on or off the school bus. Stay stopped until the red lights stop flashing, the extended stop-arm is withdrawn, and the bus begins moving.
– 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧’𝐭 𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧, particularly in the morning or mid-afternoon, around school arrival and dismissal times. Be alert as you back out of a driveway, or drive through a neighborhood, school zone or bus stop.
𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 - 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐛𝐮𝐬 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧:
Your child should arrive at the bus stop at least 10 minutes before the bus is scheduled to arrive. Teach them to play it SAFE:
– 𝐒tay five steps away from the curb.
– 𝐀lways wait until the bus comes to a complete stop and the bus driver signals for you to board.
– 𝐅ace forward after finding a seat on the bus.
– 𝐄xit the bus after it stops and look left-right-left for cars before crossing a street.

Camden County Schools will reopen for staff on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. Students return on Thursday, August 8, 2024.
After thorough assessment of all CCS facilities, we have determined that we can safely resume operations despite the challenges posed by Tropical Storm Debby.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate these unexpected challenges. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to your child’s school for assistance.
We will continue to monitor the weather and road conditions.
Due to the potential for high winds, heavy rainfall and flooding associated with tropical storm Debby over the next two days, and with guidance from the National Weather Service and Camden Emergency Management Agency, Camden County Schools will delay the opening of the 2024-2025 school year. Camden County Schools will be closed Monday, August 5, 2024, and Tuesday, August 6, 2024, for all staff and students. Weather permitting, teachers will have their final day of preplanning on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, and the first day of school will be Thursday, August 8, 2024. The safety of our students, employees, and their families will always be our first priority.
We are closely monitoring Tropical Storm Debby and receiving regular updates from the National Weather Service and our local emergency management teams. Should the school day need to be changed, we will communicate that information via the Camden County Schools app notification, email, text, automated calls, social media, the district website, and local media outlets. Additional updates will be provided as they are available. Now is a great time for you to make sure you have a way to be contacted if this incoming weather has a local impact.
